The Must See Movies to Watch with your Kids this Summer |#ZoieAdventures

Summer is almost here and that means two things I can’t wait to do with my daughter: summer vacation and summer movies.  One of the first summer movies I remember seeing was “ET”  That was the summer I will never forget! It was exciting, fun and created lasting memories.

As a parent, grandparent or caregiver, you may want to create that same impact with your kid. With that in mind, here are our top 4 summer movies picks (2017) for you and the kids to watch.

1) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II: Hollywood sure can’t get over “sequelitis”! The second installment of the ‘Guardians of the G alaxy’ franchise was released in theaters on May 5th. The superhero movie (rated PG-13) brings back the ragtag galactic gang of Peter Q uill (Chris Pratt), Groot (Vin Diesel), Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and R ocket (Bradley Cooper). Like the first film, G uardians of the G alaxy Volume II is an action-comedy caper about saving the universe. The ensemble cast packed movie is doing pretty well at the box office and has a 82% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
2) Spider-Man Homecoming: The Spider-Man franchise is being rebooted (again!) with a new actor playing the lead. If you watched ‘Captain America: Civil War’ last year, you may remember Tom Holland’s ‘adorkable’ cameo as the web-slinging crusader. ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ (film not yet rated) features Peter Parker (Tom Holland) juggling high school along with the perils of being a superhero. This time around, he has a mentor in Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) as well as a much younger Aunt May (Marisa Tomei). ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ releases in theaters this July 5th.
3) Everything Everything: Every summer, I try to see one movie with the kids that is not your typical summer blockbuster fare. This year, I think that movie will be ‘Everything Everything’. This young adult film (rated PG-13) features Amandla Stenberg (best known as Rue from ‘The Hunger Games’) as Maddy Whittier. Maddy suffers from severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) which leaves her unable to leave her house and have a proper social life. The film showcases her coming-of-age romance with boy next door Olly Bright (Nick Robinson). ‘Everything Everything’ is due in theaters on May 19th.
4) Wonder Woman: Hollywood finally gives us a female superhero film! Amazonian princess Diana (Gal Gadot) lives a sheltered life on the island of Themyscira. Diana learns one day of the war-ravaged outside world and leaves her home to fight for peace and justice. ‘Wonder Woman’ (rated PG-13) is directed by Patty Jenkins, the same person behind the powerful film ‘Monster’ (2003). It releases in theaters on June 2nd.

Have fun and leave us a comment after you’ve seen these movies. We would love to hear your thoughts!!

Happy Summer!
